Job Description

Job Purpose:

To ensure that the company's products are labelled, packed and dispatched to the customer requirements in a timely, efficient and economical manner. Manage the Team leaders in their role to enable them to work productively.


Responsibilities and Duties

•Ensure that production lines are set up with the day's works orders.
•Monitor lateness and absenteeism.
•Enforce Health & Safety and hygiene procedures.
•To ensure that products are prepared and packed in a timely, efficient and economical way.
•Allocate work to individuals and teams and check that duties are carried out to the highest standards.
•Follow the guidelines of the Deputy Operations manager to decide the most appropriate and efficient method of working adhering to the company layout for optimum production.
•Check samples regularly for accuracy, quality, presentation and compliance in accordance with Worksheets.
•Record waste in accordance with procedures.
•Ensure that the correct products and packaging is used in production runs.
•Notify the Maintenance and Logistics Manager of any defects and problems relating to machinery. Record comments and actions in the appropriate liaison book.
•To check and keep the Packhouse areas well organised, clean and tidy. Train and manage staff to do the same.
•Train, develop, mentor and assist the Team Leaders.
•To ensure prompt and accurate completion of all documentation.
•To undergo training as and when required.
•Be aware of and comply with Company and local fire evacuation procedures.
•Make sure that stock accounting is actioned, and regular stock quantity and quality checks are made.

•The above duties are those normally required by you, however are not exhaustive. You may be asked to carry out tasks as the business dictates. It is a condition of your employment that you carry out any reasonable management requests.
